I went in to Annie's room to see if she was back in her cage. What normally happens is that I let her out of the cage to run around the room and eventually, she goes back in there to sleep in her bed. She didn't do that tonight. I realized that I probably wouldn't get her back in the cage and decided it would be okay to keep her out of the cage while I was asleep.
She likes this spot between my desk and the wall. So, I was laying about 5 feet in front of her, doing some homework. I slowly made my way closer to her. She let me pet her outside of the cage for the first time!
Yay!
